Lovely new font with a nice’ luxury’ feel to it – that is a little Avant Garde in places with the glyphs although that’s no bad thing – from Reserves, a type, stock art and image foundry based in California.

Back in the early days of Bitique I ran a little series showcasing some of the best studios from my hometown – Manchester. Now Hemisphere were always on the list but they never seemed to update their site or feature some of the work I knew they had done.
Well now is their moment – I visited the site yesterday and not only is it a new site but it also features all their most recent work including brand work for Manchester Central, Manchester Metrolink and Bolton and Oldham councils.

I love this piece – by Belfast studio and home of Mr Grafikcache, Sort – for Todd Architects. Much more cracking work can be found on their site too.

James is a 3rd year student – I’m getting submissions from plenty of them at the moment! – at the Lincoln School of Art & Design.

Now I’m as big an Apple fanboy as the next graphic designer but I have to admit to not feeling blown away – in the way I was with the iPhone and each and every new Mac – by the iPad.
True, it looks beautiful – in a big iPhone kind of way – but Apple products go deeper than aesthetics, they solve problems. We no longer need to carry around CD’s, our laptops are thinner and lighter and our personal computer’s are more user friendly, intuitive and stable but I fail to see what ‘problems the iPad solves.
Maybe it’s just me? Your thoughts please.

I really like this project by Emily Louise Reynolds – a third year of BA (Hons) Graphic Design at Lincoln School of Art and Design. The book chronicles the last 100 items that Emily bought.

The new cover for Grafik – as featured over on Grafikcache this week – reminded me of just how good Grafik was when designed by Made Thought. More examples can be found in the Archive on Made Thought’s site.
