Ben Vessey is fed up of ‘shiny’ icons and the over use of shadows and gradients, and has decided to take matters into his own hands with this set of unashamedly old school OS icons and wallpapers.Initially setting out to create minimalistic, flat colour icons, Ben then I figured it would be an interesting project to design modern icons in the style of Mac OS ’84. Once the set was complete they were complemented by replicas of the original OS ’84 wallpapers to create a proper old school interface.
The set is available to download, for the bargain price of a tweet or a Facebook like.
Hmm, its all very well growing tired of glassy illusionist digital visual language but reverting to Mac os 7.2 isn’t really the answer.
