Must be the faint aroma of Winter in the air, but I am attracted to shiny colourful design at the moment. Aris sent us over his new portfolio this week and I thought it was in keeping with the colourful theming this week.




I think I’ll be getting my mitts on this book once it hits the shelves. Graphic Design: A User’s Manual is an insider’s guide to the complexities of current graphic design practice and thinking written by Adrian Shaughnessy.

Following in the footsteps of Counter Print comes another site dedicated to beautiful, vintage design books – the aptly named Designers Books. Created by Sebastien Hayez at the beginning of this month Designers Books counts Blanka’s Mark Blamire as one of its contributors.

Dictionary Story – by Sam Winston – was originally a handmade book in an edition of 100 but due to the time taken to create and its limited run they became expensive collectors items held in many special collections including MoMA, The Tate, V&A Museum and The British Library.
With the support of the design community Sam hopes to produce a new and cheaper edition that everyone can afford.
