Spotted this over at Amass – the blog of designer James Phillips Williams – JP to his friends. Lovely to see the simplicity and beauty of the card. I wonder how it would look if Mr Rand was to design it today with all the added content that goes on a card these days – email address, URL, Skype, Fax etc. I reckon it would still be a belter!

From the look of the mega slideshow opposite it looks like it’s been a very good year for graphic design – and here’s to another. Chin chin and a Merry Christmas!
Check out this ridiculously sexy Christmas card by the chaps over at Kent Lyons. Featuring a hand carved 12 pointed Moravian ice star which was allowed to melt as polaroids were taken. The whole 15 hour sequence has also been put together as a stop-frame movie.
I’m not to ashamed to say I would love to get one through Bitique’s letterbox ;)

Some people say it is following a trend and that it won’t date well but I really like the MAD branding produced by Michael Bierut’s team at Pentagram. They have now just completed work on a MAD ‘Pop-up’ store in New York’s Upper East Side that will be around for the holiday season.

With the topic of offices/studios/workspace being very much in vogue recently – due to the release of Studio Culture from Unit Editions and being the focus of the November issue of Creative Review – it was quite apt that a programmer friend of mine fired over a link to this quite exceptional workspace for Spanish Architects Selgas Cano today.
