The guys behind Counter-Print have launched a new paper called Eight:48. As a companion magazine to Counter-Print it showcases the work of the many friends and contacts they have made along the way as well as people they admire. It’s available to buy from www.eight48.com and costs £6 (plus P&P).

The new cover for Grafik – as featured over on Grafikcache this week – reminded me of just how good Grafik was when designed by Made Thought. More examples can be found in the Archive on Made Thought’s site.

We’ve featured Dyhr.Hagen on here before – they were one of the very first featured – but I thought I’d shine a light on some of their excellent editorial design. It’s every bit as good as you would expect from one of the very best studios around.

Mark Porter is Creative Director of British newspaper The Guardian and a recipiant of a black pencil for its 2005 redesign – so obviously a very talented chap.

The intent of Bitique was to pretty much stick to graphic design but today a friend of mine pointed me in the direction of the photographer Michael Muller and I think he’s certainly worth a post.
The site is nice and functional with a couple of really nice touches which is all I look for, and need, from a portfolio site.

Copenhagen based Dyhr Hagen, founded in 2002 by Lars Dyhr and Peter Hagen, have a great portfolio of work prodominently for fashion and lifestyle brands.
It’s the clarity of layout and restrained use of colour that does it for me.

In my student days I hoarded style magazines like The Face, Arena Homme + and Wallpaper*. One particular issue of Homme+ really drew me in with its clinical layout and execution.
Just recently I have discovered the man behind the design – Fabien Baron of Baron & Baron Inc. Baron works extensively in high fashion; building brands and designing print and motion advertising campaigns, editorial, packaging and product and furniture design.
