Before I went on my hols I was very kindly invited by James Groves of GF Smith to attend a special preview of the amazing retrospective show ‘Art on Paper’. Unfortunately being a ‘Northerner’ I was unable to make the London show and it looks like it was a great event.

If you like your nice writing/sketch pads then you will like Whitelines pads. The brainchild of Swedish designer Olof Hansson is that the pads use ‘whitelines’ that aid writing and drawing but don’t interfere with whatever you have put down on paper and they don’t show up on photocopies. Like all the best ideas simple but effective.

To celebrate 111 years of outright brilliance GF Smith is going on tour!
The touring exhibition will showcase material which encompasses both European and American promotions, with work from contributors such as Saul Bass, Milton Glaser, Paul Rand, Bill McKay and SEA Design.
Launched at the Edinburgh School of Art in October 2009, the tour will commence in ernest in January at The Glasgow School of Art, and continues to tour the countries leading Universities throughout 2010.
