Unit Editions

Last Tuesday I headed over to Manchester’s Print Works to listen to a very interesting talk by Unit Edition’s Adrian Shaughnessy and Tony Brook. During the evening they revealed their new research paper – the subject of which is Form, a quarterly magazine published in Great Britain between 1966 and 1969.

John Rooney

John has worked for clients such as Tate Gallery Liverpool, The Design Initiative and Factory Records and as of 2004 has lectured at Salford Uni, written their MA in Typography, done an MA in Design & Art Direction AND a PhD on the findings of Visible Narratives.

“A Visible Narrative is the unseen path created by the pattern of gesture made during the moment language. This is a deliberate strategy to immerse the viewer in images created from the silent visual chaos of narration. The images presented are captured using Adobe Flash and appear on the surface to be without meaning. However the story, or narrative of the gesture is encoded within the images.”
